I wanted to let you know what a delight Lucie is. She went to the vet for her "get to know you" visit and certificate to attend kindergarten. The vet had not seen a pinney poo. She said it was obvious you were a wonderful breeder. It was a perfect check up. She loves her "Pup Head" and is completely potty trained. No accidents yet, but no opportunity either. Lucie goes in for her spay surgery this week. I am having separation anxiety about it. She remains the sweetest puppy I have ever known.
I sneaked Lucie in to work. I was afraid I would get caught, but they said the security guard was a dog lover and he would let us in. We had quite a show. She is very tall. She still has her cute baby face, but is getting long adolescent legs. She can jump so high. When we take her off leash to run down the inner hall of our condo, she stretches her legs out like she is flying. She remains the best behaved puppy ever. We read the book, "The Dog Whisperer." We used some training tips and boy do they work. He has a corrective behavior where he snaps his fingers and hisses if they start to misbehave. We tried it on the garbage can because that was the thing our min pin just couldn't leave alone. We put some "bait garbage" on the floor. She approached it maybe 4 times. Every time we snapped and hissed. I think I could leave garbage right on the kitchen floor for 24 hours and she wouldn't touch it. She has a beautiful wardrobe of warm coats and party dresses. I don't think the dog whisperer would like that part. But she really likes being warm. Everyone is impressed that she was potty trained in 3 days. She is doing great in kindergarten too. She will not sit or lie on the cement floor. I take a throw rug, and the princess does fine. The only thing that she will NOT do is stay. She MUST be in on all action. I have to get up early, so she stays up late with Roger while I hit the hay. When he turns the lights off, she hops in bed. We get up early for our little walk. Then she goes back to sleep. When Roger finishes breakfast, and pours his coffee, she knows he is going to his recliner, and she walks over to wait for him to light the fire in the fireplace, and hops on his lap. When I get home, she gets her leash and is ready to go for the walk and to get the mail. And so goes the days of our lives. I am so glad our daughter found you on the internet.Lucie, our little black pearl, sends greetings from the shores of Lake Mendota on the Campus of UW Memorial Union in Madison. We want to reinforce the sentiments written on other testimonials on your site. Your great start was the perfect beginning in life for our little avatar of sweetness and devotion. I see she has a baby sister available for adoption. Whoever gets her will get more love than one could imagine in such a small bundle. So far we have had just one concern about our little girl. When we had a family emergency, there were so many people who offered to keep her for us. The big word was keep! We were afraid they wouldn't want to give her back. That just wouldn't do. Thank you sooooo much for our precious pinney poo, Lucie. Unlike the TV show, she hardly ever has any 'splainin' to do.
I've been thinking of you. Our Lucie is a delight. Her adult weight bulks up a bit during the winter. She is just a little over 9 pounds. Drops to just below 9 pounds when she is more active. She has had no health issues other than she broke a toe when someone stepped on her foot. It is interesting that her color changed. She is black with a "coppertop." The red pinscher shines in the sun. She is well behaved. She goes to doggie day care twice a week when Roger is in dialysis so she isn't home alone. She does have a new pal. Our daughter finished graduate school, but has not been able to get a full time job. She after 7 years of living away, is now home with us until full time work with benefits!. She has a cat this the same size as Lucie. They have a truce. They try to play nice, but each doesn't understand why the other one plays like it does. I'll take a picture when it is warmer and she is out in the sun, so you can see her coppertop.
P.S. She has a baby face.
